An overview of the PPS Gateway for AIR Card®

The PPS Gateway for AIR Card® provides FBOs with a modern platform for processing US government AIR Card® transactions. It includes the set of APIs required for integrating a point of sale system (POS) into the gateway.

To process a card transaction with the PPS Gateway for AIR Card®, your FBO's POS system must provide all of the required transaction details. Upon receiving this, the gateway rapidly performs a series of validations to determine whether the transaction is valid. The gateway will decline any transaction that does not pass all validation steps.

The gateway automatically adds approved transactions to your FBO's current open batch until you settle the batch. It’s important to note that the gateway keeps track of all transactions in your batches. This eliminates the need for your FBO to add this overhead on its POS system. What's more, every transaction that the gateway processes produces a response that it sends to your POS system, which provides the status of the transaction (approved or declined) and any additional details.

We have built the gateway as the preferred mechanism for you to process various forms of transactions, such as sales and voids, that have been made with an AIR Card®. Once your FBO has gone through the required integration and certification process, you can initiate card transactions through your POS system either by swiping a card or by manually entering the number of a card.
